Adverbs in french often, as in english, describes time, place, mode or grade. The adverb adds to a verb or an adjective.
 
Examples of adverbs in french: très, hier, demain, loin, bientôt, souvent, partout, beaucoup, bien, mal, lent(e), y and en.
 
Conjugation:
Adverbs are conjugated in first, second and third grade, but are not conjugated in singular and plural, feminine and masculine. Ex: good, better, best

The adverbs en and y are used differently.
Ex: Il en vient - he is from there. Ils y pensent toute la semaine - They think of them all week.
